Product usage via a CSV
If you can’t connect your usage data directly, share a CSV export with the Sonora team. You can use the format you already have; Sonora will review the export and work with you on the import. The example below is a starting point, not a required template.
Prepare the export
Section titled “Prepare the export”Include the following so we can match usage to customers and show its history:
- Monthly values: One value for each metric and account for each month. Aggregate the underlying events before exporting, and tell us what each metric measures and how you calculated it.
- History: Include the last 12 months if available.
- CRM IDs: Include the Salesforce account ID or HubSpot company ID for each account, so we can match it to the customer in Sonora.
Example
Section titled “Example”This example uses one row per account, metric, and month. You can also share a different layout, such as one metric per column.
crm_account_id,month,metric,value001ABC,2026-08,monthly_active_users,42001ABC,2026-09,monthly_active_users,47001ABC,2026-09,api_calls,1250Calculate each monthly value according to what the metric measures:
- Distinct users: Count each person once during the month, even if they used the product on multiple days. For example, if three people were active in September, the monthly active users value is 3.
- Events: Add up the events during the month. For example, 100 API calls in the first half of September and 150 in the second half make 250 API calls for September.
- Snapshots: Record the value at a specific point in time, rather than adding daily values together. For example, if an account had 20 licensed seats at the end of September, its month-end value is 20. Tell us when you measured the snapshot.
Group metrics into products
Section titled “Group metrics into products”Products in Sonora group related usage metrics. They can represent distinct products or areas of your offering: for example, API for request volume, App for active users, and Integrations for connected services.
If you want to group your metrics this way, include the product or group name for each metric, or share a separate mapping. Tell us how you want the metrics organized and viewed; we’ll agree on the groups as part of the import.
For example, you could add a product column to group metrics by area:
crm_account_id,product,month,metric,value001ABC,API,2026-09,api_calls,1250001ABC,App,2026-09,monthly_active_users,47001ABC,Integrations,2026-09,connected_services,3Share the export and metric definitions with your Sonora contact. We can review a sample first and help with matching or mapping questions.
